This is APA Communications Committee Deputy Chairman First Officer Scott Shankland with the APA Information Hotline for Friday, September 18.
JOINT BUSINESS AGREEMENT MEDIATION: Arbitrator Stephen Goldberg presided over four days of mediation this week between APA and management. At issue was management’s proposed joint business agreement with British Airways and Iberia. The four days of mediation ended with no agreement between the two parties.
The APA Board of Directors will receive a full briefing about the mediated discussions next week. After that time, we will provide our members with more information regarding this week’s mediated discussions on APA’s grievance.
APA BOARD OF DIRECTORS FALL MEETING: The APA National Officers and Board of Directors will convene at APA headquarters next week for the annual fall Board of Directors meeting. APA’s national committees will update union leadership on their ongoing activities through in-person presentations or via written reports. The meeting will also include elections for the Negotiating, Communications, Scope, Strategic Planning, Benefits Review, Financial Audit and Appeal Board Committees.
In addition, the Board will consider a series of resolutions during the course of the week. You can access these resolutions via the links contained in Secretary-Treasurer Captain Bill Haug’s Tuesday, Sept. 15 e-mail, or by clicking on the “National Information” tab at the upper left-hand side of the alliedpilots.org members’ home page, then clicking on “BOD Documentation,” then clicking on “Resolutions.”
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday morning and is scheduled to continue through Friday. As with any Board meeting, all members in good standing are welcome to attend any open portion.
That’s all we have for today. Thanks for checking this hotline.
