This is APA Communications Deputy Chairman First Officer Scott Shankland with the APA Information Hotline for Thursday, February 11.
APA BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING: The APA Board of Directors reconvened at 9 a.m. today for their special meeting. The bulk of today’s Board business took place in closed session and included briefings by APA General Counsel Ed James; Director of Safety, Training, Security and Aeromedical Ray Duke; International Alliance Committee Chairman Captain T.K. Kawai; and the Negotiating Committee.
Please note that the Board waived policy yesterday to retroactively approve union leave for a union volunteer to ensure that individual does not lose income for performing work on APA’s behalf.
Also yesterday, the APA Board of Directors voted to unanimously approve a letter of agreement incorporating furlough stand-in-stead enhancements. You should have received an overview of the enhancements to the furlough stand-in-stead program via e-mail yesterday evening for your review. Once again on a related note, any pilots on military leave facing potential furlough or considering a stand-in-stead furlough please contact APA Membership/Furlough Committee Chairman Captain Rusty McDaniels at rmcdaniels@alliedpilots.org.
The Board meeting is scheduled to continue through mid-day tomorrow. We will recap all resolutions the Board votes to approve after the meeting’s conclusion.
That’s it for today. Thank you for checking this hotline message.
