July 04, 2010
This is your APA President Captain Dave Bates with a special Independence Day Hotline for Sunday, July 4th.
The Independence Day holiday is the quintessential American celebration. It reminds us of the blessings we have as members of this great nation and how much this country has overcome and how great this country can be.
As Tony, Scott and I, take office to help lead this union, I would ask all members to similarly reflect on the challenges that lie before us. With unity of purpose and collective resolve, we can begin to restore our careers to what we once hoped they would be.
Our efforts this week have already started us down the path of restoring your union. With the help of the APA Board, we hope to create a passion and loyalty to your union that rivals the patriotic passion we have for our country.
I would like to thank all of you who are working this holiday. While most Americans are home or at the lake, beach or pool, cooking out, picnicking, or watching fireworks, the pilots of American Airlines are supporting our country and supporting our economy.
Thank you for all that you do!
